Education Foundation, Caldwell County, received $100,000 grant from Google Inc. Charitable Giving Fund at Tides Foundation to invest in new technology for schools to participate in interactive science and technology activities and courses.


John Rex Endowment awarded $1.25 million, four-year grant to Collaborative Partnership for Excellence in Youth Development and $115,322 to El Pueblo to support CAPAZ youth-development initiative.


Breast-cancer researcher at Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, Indiana University, getting $100,000 grant from Kay Yow Cancer Fund in partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research.


The Winston-Salem Foundation made nine community grants totaling $189,780 to The Centers for Exceptional Children; Partnership for a Drug-Free NC; Prevent Blindness North Carolina; Samaritan Ministries; Save Historic Red Bank School;  SECCA Foundation; Winston Elite Youth Sports; Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools; and Winston-Salem State University
