June 29: Hospice, Kate B., Goodwill, and more

Brian K. Payne, former executive director, president and CEO, Catholic Hospice, Miami, named president and CEO, Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, Winston-Salem, succeeding JoAnn E. Davis, who has worked at the organization for 26 years, starting as part-time bookkeeper.


Jehan Benton-Clark, executive director, Partners Ending Homelessness, Greensboro, named program officer, health-care division, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, Winston-Salem.


Sherry Carpenter, who nearly 20 years ago led an initiative to form a partnership between Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina and Forsyth Technical Community College to offer skills-training classes, received the Robert E. and Charlotte Watkins Award for Mission Advancement from Goodwill Industries International.


The Salvation Army of Winston-Salem has opened a new 5,000-square-foot multi-purpose facility at the International Corps at 2850 New Walkertown Road.
