Aug. 8: Legal Aid, Volunteer Center, Women’s Circle, and more

Legal Aid of North Carolina, Raleigh, closing three branch offices and significantly reducing staff and services around state because of funding cuts.


Volunteer Center of Greensboro placed 31 middle- and high-school students on four teams to complete projects for American Red Cross, Food Assistance, LIFESPAN Creative Campus – Guilford, and Reading connections; students will contribute total of over 1,500 service houses in July and August.


Women’s Giving Circle of Fayetteville changed name to Women’s Giving Circle of Cumberland County.


Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina in Winston-Salem received highest level of accreditation during recertification by Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
