Arts & Science Council, Charlotte, set $8.7 million goal for annual fund drive, up from last year’s total of $8.3 million; Bob James, vice chairman, board of directors, Fifth Third Bank, chairs campaign.

Carmen Leticia Frazier, former project manager, University of Pennsylvania, for project funded by National Institutes of Health that reached out to Philadelphia’s  Latino community, named Latino program coordinator, North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation, Raleigh.

John Cannon, managing director for industrials, Wells Fargo Securities, elected board chair, United Way of Central Carolinas, Charlotte; board named three members — Edward P. O’Keefe, general counsel, Bank of America; Adam Orvos, executive vice president, Belk Inc.; Trey Ackerman, partner, Dixon Hughes Goodman.

Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County will hold public sale of art work from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Art Collection, with proceeds to benefit Arts Council.
