Rooomr, is a new hotel booking site that donates to homeless youth with every booking made. Customers booking with Rooomr are not only guaranteed a warm bed in a cool hotel, but also that warm feeling which comes with helping others. In partnership with Virgin Unite and Virgin Mobile USA’s The RE*Generation, Rooomr donates five percent of its gross revenue to The RE*Generation each time a hotel room is booked. The RE*Generation initiative actively supports the two million youths dealing with homelessness each year in the USA by providing shelter, medical care and education. In keeping with Rooomr’s social good ethos, none of the donation costs are passed on to the customer and hotel price parity is guaranteed.

Root Action launched Dot-org Strategic Plan, a Web-based application for do-it-yourself, non-profit strategic planning. StrongNonprofits.org, a new website featuring free tools, how-tos and guides, aims to help nonprofits build their financial muscle. Developed in partnership between The Wallace Foundation, a national philanthropy that supports education and enrichment for disadvantaged children, and Fiscal Management Associates, a national consulting firm building nonprofit fiscal strength, the site contains more than 64 resources for anyone involved in nonprofit financial planning, monitoring, operations or oversight, and particularly nonprofit afterschool program providers.

Thedatabank inc., a Minnesota based company, has released a fully integrated Social CRM, as part of its nonprofit constituent management system. It includes tools for social media tracking, reporting, customized scoring, as well as a social dashboard. SocialCRM provides nonprofits with data that can be used as search, selection, and targeting criteria for direct fundraising and marketing campaigns.
