Allscripts Tobacco Road Marathon (TRM) and GNC Half Marathon presented by Inside-Out Sports, event officials announced “early bird” discount registration effective now. Those who register before April 20 will enjoy pricing of $50 for either the full or half marathon March 13, 2016 events.

The month of April will mark the 52nd showing of the slideshows from the Baker-Barber Collection of the Community Foundation of Henderson County. The Foundation is inviting everyone to celebrate the accomplishments with light refreshments, an update on the efforts of the past year along with the traditional slideshow on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 1:30-3:30 pm at Henderson County Public Library-Main Branch. While students were on Spring Break, Leadership Greensboro Seniors Association and its partners worked April 10-12 to collect food to help fight hunger in the community. The group’s goal this year was to collect and donate 100,000 pounds of nonperishable items for the Greensboro Urban Ministry Food Bank.
