SimplyFun, LLC. will be supporting the Marine Toys for Tots foundation with a $100,000 product donation and My Stuff Bags Foundation with a $25,000 product donation this holiday season.

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation marked the organization’s 50th anniversary by granting $50 million to Resources Legacy Fund, to establish a new program, the Open Rivers Fund.

The University of Iowa received a $45 million grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust that will allow for the creation of a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary neuroscience center within the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine.

On #GivingTuesday, Radisson donated invited social media users to share photos of their plates of food, donating $1 for every photo shared benefiting Feeding America and The Global FoodBank Network.

12-5-16-habitat-humanitariansOn Giving Tuesday, Habitat for Humanity launched Habitat Humanitarians to recognize the invaluable contributions of its high-profile volunteers who serve as mission champions, advocates and spokespeople to raise awareness of the need for decent, affordable shelter in the U.S. and around the world. The inaugural Habitat Humanitarians are former President Jimmy Carter, former first lady Rosalynn Carter and country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.

Gifts That Matter Most, a new national survey by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society finds that an overwhelming majority of Americans (90%) say they believe the true meaning of the holidays is to help others and 87% say they wish they could do more to help others in need. Eight in ten (82%) adults feel the spirit of the holidays has become lost in the commercialization.

12-5-16-joy-maker-challengeFrom Nov. 21 through Dec. 23, generationOn and Hasbro are teaming up for their 7th annual Joy Maker Challenge. For each child who participates, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Toys for Tots – up to $1 million worth.

Applications are now open for the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls’ 2017 Core Grants.

The American Academy in Rome is accepting applications for their 2017 Summer Programs through February 1, 2017.

Environics Communications will donate $20K of pro-bono communications work in honor of #GivingTuesday, to be split evenly between two Washington-area nonprofits. All Washington, DC nonprofits are invited to apply by December 14 for consideration. Selected non-profits will be announced on December 25, with work beginning on January 3rd.

The BUILD Health Challenge has expanded with the addition of 5 new funders. Together, all 10 funding partners will collaborate and award at least 17 community-led grants across the country. Applications are now open.
