The Center for Craft Creativity and Design named its recipients of the 2017 Windgate Fellowship for art. Grant recipients are ten college graduates who will each receive $15,000 to further their artistic careers. 

Duke University received a $1.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to expand research on America’s religious congregations to assess how they are changing over time.

MiracleFeet will receive a $5 million grant over five years from the Oak Foundation to help end the disability caused by untreated clubfoot in low-income countries. The foundation’s grant will support an ambitious 15-year plan in cooperation with the Global Clubfoot Initiative to end disability caused by clubfoot worldwide.

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity celebrated the start of the final three houses in its “Shiloh: Let’s Build!” campaign on April 12th. 

Inter-Faith Council for Social Service is holding a meet and greet for the organization’s new Executive Director Jackie Jenks on May 1st at the the Carrboro Century Center.
The Nonprofit Learning Lab held its “Online Nonprofit Institute” on April 19th. 
The Community Foundation of Henderson will present photographs from the Baker Barber collection  in a special presentation that honors the African American members of the Henderson County community on April 26th at the Henderson County Public Library. 
Keep Durham Beautiful held its first annual ReUse Rodeo on April 22nd and Durham Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 23rd.
Durham Rescue Mission‘s Annual Community Easter event was attended by 2,075 people and served 1,764 meals and distributed 1,242 Easter baskets, 654 free bags of groceries, 5,200 articles of clothing, and new socks donated by SolMate Sock Company. 
HandsOn Northwest North Carolina partnered with United Way of Forsyth County, Salem College, and The Winston-Salem Journal to present the 2017 Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards to fourteen diverse volunteers chosen from 45 different nominees from across Forsyth County on April 19th. 
The Mint Museum Uptown opened the “State of the Art, Discovering American Art Now” exhibition on April 22nd and the exhibition will be open until September 3rd. 

Leilani Mae Horse Rescue celebrated The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals national Help A Horse Day on April 22nd and competed for a chance to win up to $25,000 in grant prizes to assist with their efforts to protect horses.

Dorcas Ministries named Ms. Hilary Pritzlaff-Nathan Dorcas Thrift Shop Manager.  Hilary started in her new role on April 18th.

The 2017 NC Philanthropy Conference will be held on August 17th at the Durham Convention Center. Early bird registration ends on July 1st. 
ArtsGreensboro, in partnership with Guilford County Schools (GCS), is accepting nominations for the 2017 Arts Education Teacher of the Year Award, the deadline for nominations is May 15th. 
The Durham Arts Council is having an artist reception on May 26th for the “Forecasts And Other Disturbances”, “Our House”, and “Fluid” exhibitions
United Way of Henderson County is seeking volunteers throughout the community for their annual Day of Caring on May 13th to mobilize the caring power of volunteers to make a meaningful impact in the community.
North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault’s 2017 statewide sexual assault conference “From Premise to Practice: Applying a Comprehensive Trauma Lens” will be held on May 16th-18th in Winston Salem, North Carolina. 
Activate Good is holding the #ServiceUnites pilot project as part of National Volunteer Week 2017 on April 26th at the Food Bank Raleigh. 
The Volunteer Center of Greensboro is accepting applications for their Service-Learning Leadership Camp from June 19th to July 14th.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation is now accepting applications for the Nonprofit Leadership Academy. The deadline to apply to the 11 month program is May 15th. 
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will show the 1973 science fiction film “Westworld,” with special activities and opportunities on April 28th.  
Passage Home will hold its annual Fish Fry Fundraiser on April 28th at the Safety Club location to benefit the Stewards Fund. 
The United Way of the Greater Triangle has opened applications for its 2017 Community Engagement Fellowship, applications are due by May 12th.
